Eddie realised he had an addiction problem when he came round from an alcohol induced blackout to discover he had hit his wife. “I was shocked,” he said. “My Dad had been a park bench drinker and I didn’t want to accept I was anything like him.”
A letter from Eddie’s daughter changed everything. “She wrote saying she needed me but if I lost her this time it would be for good. I had been using for three months and knew it
had to stop, once and for all.”
“My past is my best asset. I can share it with others to help them move forward. I was where they are and I’m living proof change is possible… I want to remove the stigma around mental health and focus on what we can do!”
