From drug and alcohol addiction funded by criminal behaviour, to a proud dad picking his kids up from school.

From drug and alcohol addiction funded by criminal behaviour, to a proud dad picking his kids up from school. This is James’ story.

“For the first time in my life I feel proud of myself. I have learnt to respect and love myself and can think before I act. I never used to be able to check myself. I always thought I was right and would try and manipulate my way out of difficult situations. Now I have peace of mind. I can think straight and don’t lie to myself or anyone else anymore.

“I look and feel healthier. I take care of myself. At the peak of my addiction I wouldn’t wash for days or weeks. The positive feedback from others keeps me moving forward and my kids can see the change. I pick them up from school and can take them to after school clubs.

“Sometimes I wake up and pinch myself – is it me or just a dream? I’m not broke and I’m not dirty. I’m content and enjoying life. I can’t find the right words to describe how grateful I am!”
