Meet the ESOW Team

Josephine Sullivan

Engagement & Development Worker

I’m Jo, one of the Engagement and Development Workers at ESOW! I’ve had many roles in the past; from working in the music business in my early 20s to doing all sorts of jobs when I lived in Paris for 3 years! When I hit my 30s, I decided that I wanted to focus on helping others, which led to me training as a nurse and carrying out various specialist nursing jobs for 17 years. I decided to part ways with the NHS, but my passion for helping people remained! When I heard about ESOW it sounded like a perfect fit! Less hands-on helping and more of a focus on guiding and empowering Experts on their journey forwards! I’m inspired by the story that each Expert has to tell and feel privileged to work alongside each one of them!

Nicole Douglas

Engagement & Development Worker

I am an Engagement and development worker. I have an academic background in Psychology and Sociology. I have always felt passionate about helping people who face marginalisation in society. My favourite part of working for ESOW is empowering and motivating our experts by experience and, seeing them speak passionately about their lived experience in order to promote systems change.

ESOW Administrator

As an Administrator my aim is to make sure that the team are well supported, I assist our fantastic Experts in any way I can and maintain general duties.
It is always inspiring to see the confidence grow in Experts as they navigate through the service. Experts do a fine job of representing ESOW as a whole, as well as furiously inspiring systems change throughout Birmingham and Nationally.
